As I mentioned in an earlier post, Paul and I had work outside of San Francisco and rather than fly, we decided to take the scenic route up the Pacific Coast Highway through as many quaint, beach towns as we could. First stop on the itinerary: Santa Barbara.
While we had never visited the city or the surrounding areas before, we’d certainly heard good things about Santa Barbara County. We’d also heard that one of the most walkable areas to stay was State Street, which houses a lovely assortment of shops, stores, and restaurants. In addition to all the unique charm, Santa Barbara has plenty of beautiful views given that it boasts the longest stretch of South-facing coastline on the West Coast! And if that isn’t enough to lure you in, a number of wineries that make up the San Ynez area are just a few miles inland. But if you want to stay in the city proper, Santa Barbara has an Urban Wine trail right in the heart of their downtown with over 25 different tasting rooms and appropriately named Funk Zone! Below a few pictures from the trip, more to come on our favorite spots!
