SoCal Travels: La Jolla

Last weekend Paul and I decided to Uber-it to La Jolla. It was Paul’s first visit (I had been once before a few years ago), and we were blessed with shorts-friendly weather and cloudless skies. Our driver dropped us off at the La Jolla caves, we walked along the water into the cove and then to lovely Scripps Park!

After our scenic walk we decided to head into town for a drink and some snacks. Since we weren’t super hungry, the taco stand was out (next time!) so we decided to get drinks at Whisknladle, which had just started their happy hour!!! Whisknladle is owned by the same people as Prep Kitchen (in Little Italy) – easily one of our fav neighborhood happy hour spots! Needless to say, I was curious to try out their cocktails and see how they compared. In the end, my drink was just okay, but Paul’s was quite yummy…and he was kind enough to share!

If you are ever in the area, be sure to check out:

Bird Rock for coffee
Whisknlade for happy hour
Taco Stand for tacos
The Cottage for brunch
Trilogy Sanctuary for healthy eats and juices
Georges’s at the Cove for upscale dining with a view
Bobboi Natural Gelato for crazy good Gelato

Below are a few images from our day trip – hope you enjoy!
